College of Medicine at Al-Subtain University Organizes an Advanced Workshop on Clinical Training Assessment



As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the Clinical Clerkship Program, the College of Medicine at Al-Subtain University for Medical Sciences organized an advanced faculty development workshop for members of the Department of Internal Medicine. The workshop was held to strengthen the quality of medical education and align clinical assessment practices with the latest international academic standards.


The workshop was organized under the supervision of the Educational Development Center, headed by Professor Azim Mirza Zadeh, and was delivered by Dr. Amir Ghorbani, an expert in clinical education and training at the International Campus of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Rahim Mahdi Rahim, President of Al-Subtain University for Medical Sciences, and attended by Assistant Professor Mohammed Fawzi Al-Qanbar, Dean of the College of Medicine, the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, and members of the academic staff.


The workshop focused on clinical reasoning assessment and the development of Key Features (KF) examinations and Clinical Puzzle Examinations (CPE). Participants also received practical training on examination design, scoring methodologies, quality assurance in assessment, and the construction of high-quality examination items through hands-on activities.


The workshop reflects the University’s commitment to continuous faculty development, excellence in medical education, and the implementation of internationally recognized best practices in clinical teaching and assessment.
